I’m contributing this photograph to Jude’s bench series which she has been hosting on her site Travel Words. There have been some fabulous images posted throughout the year and I encourage you to check the site out for yourselves.
This month Jude is looking for a bench with someone or something sitting on it. I included this photo in my recent Changing Seasons post and Jude suggested it would be ideal for this month’s bench series theme.
Agree Michelle and what an interesting seat

[…] first pick has to be this beautiful bench in Melbourne that would have fitted nicely into the unusual category, but luckily has a lovely young man perched […]

Cool bench! I’ll be in Melbourne myself at the end of November — where is this? It can be one of my “whatever benches”. 😉

Thanks! It’s at Southbank down towards the Crown Casino. Enjoy your stay in Melbourne. If you like unusual bench seats I’d also recommend a walk down Brunswick St. I’m going feature some of these in Jude’s December theme.

Thanks for the tips! I only have one free day, so Brunswick St is probably out. I’ll see them vicariously on your posts.

💋Great bench! Was thinking of you yesterday (Melbourne Cup Day). Sydney was full of excitement with all of the ladies sporting beautiful outfits. It must have really been something to be in Melbourne.

Thanks Lisa. Yes, Melbourne Cup Day is huge here. We even have a public holiday for it. I used to live near the race course and all the local pubs would fill up after the race. The entire spring racing carnival is great fun.
