Blur is the theme for this week’s challenge and I suspect, like most photographers I have many blurry photos to choose from. I decided on this particular shot as it gives me a chance to write a little about ‘White Night’ – now a huge attraction on Melbourne’s event calendar.
Melbourne’s White Night was inspired by Paris’ Nuit Blanche and runs from 7pm to 7am on a Saturday night in February each year. On this night the city centre is bursting with activity – visual art, exhibitions, music, film, theatre, street entertainment and spectacular illuminations on some of our more iconic buildings. Most of the events are free and the streets are packed with people of all ages, wandering about and enjoying the visual feast.
This photo of a busker was taken along one of the river promenades and even though a little blurry, still seems to captures the spirit and fun of the night.
