Photography101 – Day 8 – The Natural World

This photo was taken on the island of Taha’a in French Polynesia where we observed these funny little crabs scurrying around wherever we walked. I believe they’re called Tupa or Land Crabs and are able to very quickly dig their way into the sand when they feel threatened. Fortunately this little fellow was not able to get away before I took its photo.

    1. I agree. He has a lot of expression for a crab. X

  3. Great shot! Those little crabs are definitely camera shy, so your ability to capture him so clearly was impressive. Loved reading about your sailing adventures on your other blog and look forward to following you here now that you have returned home.

    2. Hi again Lisa. Have just had a glimpse at your blog and will read more soon. Your photos are stunning. We have so much in common – sailing, photography, and a love of street art. Not sure if you looked at the Flickr link on my blog – there are lots of photos from the Society Islands which you might find interesting. More from Italy, Turkey and Barcelona further down with street art dotted throughout. I will be following your blog with much interest.
